Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu temporarily closed on 31 August 2020 due to the global COVID-19 crisis. The recent Super Typhoon Rai, or Odette as it was known in the Philippines, on 17 December 2021 inflicted major damages to the property. The hotel remains closed during the restoration and reopening is not anticipated in the near future.
